David Morton, PhD
When Dr. David Morton took the following pledge, he did not know that his
services would be needed almost immediately. Dr. Morton pledged the following
upon his election and induction into the College of Fellows as a Senior Fellow:
. . . to serve my community by teaching
literacy, sharing my appreciation for The Great Books of the Western
Tradition wherever possible; to respond when called upon by the Chair of the
College; and to perform any tasks that are clearly intended to advance the
state of academia on behalf of the College of Fellows and Trinity College.
Dr. Morton took
this pledge June12, 2005. Since that time Dr. Morton has been instrumental in
leading Trinity College through it's initial accreditation process.
With
Dr. Morton’s assistance, Trinity College went through the application process
and was accepted for recognition as a degree granting institution.
Immediately after gaining recognition, Dr. Carroll,
President of Trinity College, was quoted as saying, “Now that's what I call
support. The College of Fellows was
an excellent investment on the part of the College.”
Dr. Carroll immediately sent a “congratulation” letter to Dr. Morton
thanking him for all his assistance.
Dr. Morton was
eventually appointed Chair of the College of Fellows and continues in his
role of reviewing and approving the applications made for membership and
induction into the College of Fellows.
